Biogas is produced when animal manure, food waste and fish sludge break down. The main ingredient is the much-discussed greenhouse gas, methane. By recycling this kind of biological waste in a biogas reactor, the highly flammable properties of methane can be used to replace fossil energy.

Forests and climate: learning from the past to predict the future

In order to prioritize mitigation and adaption options in the forest sector, increased knowledge about how forests affect climate and how climate affects forest is necessary. A new international research project, led by NIBIO, aims to fill this knowledge gap.
