WP 4: Preliminary results after first interviews with farmers

The first interviews with farmers have shown that: 

• Most of the farmers have no principle opposition to using waste based fertilizer products
• If it is practical to use and provide the same earnings as mineral fertilizer the farmers are interested in using it
• Organic material in the soil is important for most of the farmers
• The products should preferably be balanced with respect to nutrients
• Important that using waste based fertilizer products do not imply increase soil compaction and increased tractor driving
• No strong environmental or intrinsic motivation to use it
• Some skepticism regarding uncertainty about the exact content of nutrients
• Some skepticism to long term environmental risks from waste based fertilizer products from sewage and fish sludge from one of the farmers.
