I have a background in environmental studies from the University of Vermont (USA) and agroecology from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU, Ås). My area of interest is in finding solutions for recirculating nutrients and generating bioenergy from biomass via biogas and composting, or applied directly as fertilizer. I work at the interface between aquaculture and agriculture - or what is known as the blue-green circular bioeconomy. My location in Tingvoll on the northwest coast of Norway is ideal projects that involve both blue and green sectors. Through my department I have access to Norway's largest biogas laboratory at Vollebekk in Ås as well as facilities for cultivating microalgae, composting and a range of analyses.
